Food + Health + Kids

Hijacked food (2){Melbourne + Sydney EVENTS} With one out of two children having some form of chronic illness in the US (and numbers for Australia  are eerily similar), working out “What’s for dinner?” is becoming much tricker.

From Friday 19th March you can join the MADGE Talks Tour with 4 events in each city (Melbourne and Sydney) that bring together for the first time in Australia 3 international experts – two from the US and one from the UK to highlight and discuss the implications of what’s really going on with health in the Western world.  Statistics show (for the USA):

  • allergies are up 400%,
  • Asthma affects 1 in 8,
  • Autism has increased 1500% over the last 20 years,
  • 23.5 million Americans suffer with auto-immune diseases,
  • Diabetes in teens has quadrupled in ten years,
  • Colitis in children has tripled,
  • Crohn’s disease is up 79% in ten years, and if that wasn’t enough
  • Cancer is the number one killer of children in America today.

If these statistics concern you too get along to learn from 3 international gurus:

MADGE tour

US Paediatrician Dr Michelle Perro who has seen a dramatic decline in children’s health over the last 30 years. Over half of US children are now diagnosed with a chronic disorder.

Zen Honeycutt, Founder of Moms Across America – the group that conducted tests on breastmilk and discovered it was contaminated with weedkiller Roundup – in some cases it was 1600 times higher than what’s allowed in drinking water in Europe!!!!!!!!!!

Dr Michael Antoniou, who researches human gene structure and function leading to the development of gene and cell-based therapies as Head of the Gene Expression and Therapy Group at King’s College London, and Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, Guy’s Hospital, London.

I’ll be flying down from Brisbane for the Melbourne leg of these events because it’s not everyday that you get to hear and meet these amazing experts.  I’m attending ALL the Melbourne events – will you be there?  I’d love to see you!
