7 Sandwich-free lunchbox ideas

January 21, 2014

It’s a fact that many kids hate eating sandwiches for lunch.  If you think back to your own school days did you hate eating sandwiches too?

Was it because they went soggy, the bread dried out, or they just tasted “warm”?

If your kids are the same – ask them WHY so you know how to pack lunches differently. As always, get them involved in packing their lunches too.

If you’re struggling here are 7 Sandwich Free ideas (plus an extra 3!!!) that you might like to test out with your kids!

  1. Sweet Potato Frittata  USE Roasted Vege to make it quick!!! http://www.kidspot.com.au/kitchen/recipes/sweet-potato-frittata-619
  2. Lunchbox pasties – I’d use butter puff pastry – and cold roast vegetables to save 15-20 minutes – and I would not waste time cooking carrots!?!            http://www.kidspot.com.au/kitchen/recipes/lunchbox-pasties-108
  3. Corn Fritters – use 1 can corn or 2 fresh cobs of corn  http://www.mealplanningyourway.com/2013/03/06/whats-for-dinner-corn-fritters/

  5. Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls – avoid nuts of course – great way to use up leftovers!  http://www.kidspot.com.au/kitchen/recipes/vietnamese-rice-paper-rolls-346
